Brookline Safety NetBrookline Safety Net provides emergency assistance to residents of Brookline in times of financial crisis and unexpected need. Supported by contributions from Brookline residents, and by an allocation from the federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program, Safety Net provides help with essential needs, such as food, fuel, and shelter. Brookline Community Mental Health Center administers Brookline Safety Net on behalf of the BCF. This program provides rapid response to immediate needs by offering food vouchers, helping with rent or fuel bills, extraordinary expenses such as moving costs, and referrals for other kinds of support.
