Community Impact
You Make the Difference
As your local partner in philanthropy, the Brookline Community Foundation (BCF) helps people like you address the causes that matter most to Brookline’s residents.
My gift to BCF means I become part of the solution. I give because it helps.
Chobee Hoy, BCF Donor
Together we are able to strengthen organizations like Steps to Success, which helps low-income students succeed and attend college, and the Brookline Senior Center, which provides high quality programs and social services to Brookline elders. These organizations and many others that we fund work hard to drive change and build upon those opportunities that will keep Brookline a caring and giving community for future generations.
Our program is about changing lives and opening up possibilities for the kids who participate. Danielle’s STS summer internship at the Senior Center gave her life lessons that have inspired her to think big about her future.
Janet Selcer, Executive Director, Steps to Succes
As your community foundation, BCF is essential to providing operating funds for the non-profit organizations and community programs that make Brookline a special place to live, responding to Brookline’s most pressing and changing needs. BCF funding touches all members the community, young and old.
When Estelle first came to the center, she was depressed and forlorn. At almost 70, the recession had forced her to look for work, and her self-confidence was really low. A casual conversation during lunch with a high school intern gave Estelle the boost she needed to take a chance on a job offer and get her life back on track.
Ruthann Dobek, Director, Brookline Senior Center
These stories illustrate BCF’s role in making Brookline a special place to live and in providing critical financial support for the community in times of need. We can only do this with your help. Your generosity allows us to continue to support the people, programs, and opportunities that make Brookline unique and livable. Give where you live and help us meet today's challenges and build a stronger Brookline for the future.
